Wyre's Louis Aboud Discusses Trading, DeFi and Fiat On-Ramps on Ledger Cast

Podcasts·October 11, 2026

Louis Aboud, who leads Wyre and its investment arm Wyre Capital, sat down with host Brian Krogsgard for the latest episode of Ledger Cast. The conversation started with markets and moved toward the infrastructure side of the business, with Aboud explaining how his firm thinks about trading before the two turned to decentralized finance.

The first half focuses on trading. Wyre Capital runs a long/short fund, which means it can hold positions that gain when a token rises and positions that gain when it falls. The fund is invested across a wide range of cryptocurrency projects, so Aboud's comments give listeners an investor's view of the sector rather than a developer's.

The second half turns to Wyre's product. Wyre sells an API that lets other applications offer a fiat on-ramp, the step where a user converts regular money into crypto. Many app builders would rather not build that plumbing themselves, and Krogsgard said the Wyre product seemed especially interesting.

The episode also touches on Uniswap. Krogsgard pointed listeners to an earlier Ledger Cast interview in which the creator of the decentralized exchange spoke with Laura Shin, a useful companion for anyone who wants more background on how the protocol works.

The show describes itself as educational rather than investment advice, and listeners are encouraged to do their own research before buying any asset.
