Nomics CEO Wants to Be the Data Layer for Crypto Prices

Podcasts·October 10, 2026

Nomics wants to become the data layer for the crypto industry, and its chief executive, Clay Collins, laid out that vision in a recent episode of the Ledger Cast podcast hosted by Brian Krogsgard. The company runs an API that serves historical and real-time price data for thousands of crypto projects, drawn from dozens of markets and stretching back to each project's inception.

Collins described the API as the engine behind nomics.com, the company's own price site, which is built to compete with CoinMarketCap, the best-known crypto price aggregator. Krogsgard, who said he has been using the API himself, singled out how much of it is available for free. The conversation also moved beyond the product to the company's longer-term goals.

The episode touched on Collins's background as well. He has been an entrepreneur for years and previously helped grow Lead Pages into a profitable mid-sized business. Krogsgard said he believes Collins has a strong voice for the crypto ecosystem. Collins also hosts the Flippening podcast, which Krogsgard recommended, and which recently ran a three-part series on security tokens.

For developers and analysts, the pitch is straightforward. Clean historical price data is a basic input for many tools, and a provider that covers a wide range of assets across many exchanges can serve as shared infrastructure. Krogsgard noted that the episode is educational and does not constitute investment advice, and that listeners should do their own research before buying anything.
