Algorand's "Fair" Token Distribution Draws Fire on Ledger Cast

Brian Krogsgard and Josh Olszewicz used their Ledger Cast episode to cover a mix of regulatory, exchange and price news, but the sharpest criticism was aimed at Algorand. Krogsgard argued that the project mishandled a token distribution that was supposed to be fair. In his account, the structure let early investors sell into the market at many times their cost, while buyers on exchanges were left holding tokens that had already been unloaded on them.

The discussion also turned to national governments moving to restrict crypto, with India the clearest example in the news at the time. The hosts spent time on the wider push by exchanges into their own tokens and into futures products. Krogsgard singled out the product lineup at FTX.com as one he found interesting. They also looked at a public dispute on Twitter involving the CEO of LedgerX, which coincided with the departure of the company's PR lead.

On the charts, Olszewicz walked through his fundamental and price analysis of Litecoin, Basic Attention Token and NEM. Krogsgard focused on Bitcoin, which he said was testing resistance inside the Ichimoku cloud and below the Kijun line. He also explained why he watches Bollinger Bands for key price zones, and described his own Tezos trade and the setup behind it.

The hosts stressed that the episode is educational and should not be taken as investment advice. Ledger Cast is produced in partnership with Brave New Coin, a market data provider.
